The long-awaited sequel to Green Rider!

When Karigan returned to Sacor City, she discovered the passage of time had not improved life for the Green Riders. She found them weakened and diminshed. Veteran Riders had been killed yet few new Riders had heard the call. Rider magic was becoming unreliable, and strangest of all, Karigan was having ghostly visions - visions of a strong woman with wild flowing hair and a blue and green plaid draped across her shoulder, pinned with a golden brooch. This woman was no stranger to Karigan nor would she have been to any Green Rider, for she was Lil Ambriodhe, First Rider, and founder of the Green Rider messenger service. But why was she appearing to Karigan? And how could Karigan seek the help of a woman who had been dead for a millennium?

"FIRST RIDER'S CALL is a rich, satisfying feast for the imagination, filled with vivid imagery, enthralling characters, and lively action. Everything you savored in GREEN RIDER and more. Bravo!" - Julie E. Czerneda

"In FIRST RIDER'S CALL, Kristen Britain's Green Riders once again take readers on a magical adventure. Ms. Britain uses her impressive imagination to blend a strong heroine and powerful action into a remarkable fantasy." -John Marco

"GREEN RIDER and FIRST RIDER'S CALL by Kristen Britain contain all the elements I read heroic fantasy in search of: strong, heroic characters doing interesting things, exciting worldbuilding, an intriguing magic system, respectable antagonists with their own agendas, unexpected twists, well-rounded secondary characters, a romance subplot, and an unflinching approach to conflict. These books are also gifted with lively humor, deep backgrounding that promises even more surprises in future volumes, and cool and active ghosts and time-traveling. I look forward to my next ride through this world." - Nina Kiriki Hoffman

"Kristen Britain is one of the most astonishing fantasy writers working today. She has created a richly imagined world where magic is as real as courage, and where a young woman's heroism can change the course of history." - Tess Gerritsen, author of THE APPRENTICE

"Although Kristen Britain writes strong, enthralling fantasy, her real strength lies in how very human her characters are. In a genre where character can easily be lost in archetype, this is a rare and wonderful thing." - Tanya Huff
